Assoc. Fiona Kennedy

Trained in Adult and Paediatric Nursing at Kings College Hospital and the Evelina, Guys Hospital, London. Further cardio-thoracic training at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. Nursing Sister (Manager) on paediatric cardio-thoracic and respiratory ward at the Royal Brompton, during this time obtained a Certificate in Education from the University of Greenwich. Then moved into nurse education before being appointed to a newly created role at Southampton General Hospital as Paediatric Cardiac Nurse Specialist. During this time obtained a BSc (Hons) in Child Health Nursing.

Having established this key role,  subsequently returned to University College Hospital London joining the Adult Congenital Heart Disease team as a clinical nurse specialist and became lead nurse as the team expanded.

I am a trustee of Somerville Heart Foundation, the UK charity for young people and adults born with a heart condition.

I am a member of the British Adult Congenital Cardiac Nurse Association (BACCNA).

I currently co-ordinate the Adult Congenital Heart course for nurses and allied health practitioners at Barts NHS Trust.
