Dr. Cecile Tissot

Cécile Tissot, MD is a Pediatric Cardiologist working at Clinique des Grangettes, Geneva, Switzerland.

She graduated from the Universtiy School of Medicine of Geneva (2000), did a Pediatric Residency and Pediatric Cardiology Fellowhsip at the Children’s Hospital of Geneva and at the Colorado Children’s Hospital of Denver, USA with an advanced training in pediatric and fetal echocardiography (one year) and pediatric cardiac critical care (one year).

She has been working for seven years as staff attending physician (médecin adjoint) in Pediatric Cardiology at the University Children’s Hospital of Geneva (HUG), with the position of head of the pediatric echocardiography laboratory and consultant for the pediatric intensive care unit.

She has been very involved in medical societies as chair of the Swiss Society of Pediatric Cardiology (SSPC) and chair of the Working Group on Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care (PCIC) of the Association for European Pediatric Cardiology (AEPC). She has also been Swiss National Delegate for the AEPC, treasurer of the Working Group on pediatric cardiac intensive care (PCIC) of the AEPC, deputy Chair of the section on Congenital Heart Diseases of the ESPNIC, board member of the continuous medical education and board exam for Pediatric Cardiology of the SSPC and has been advisor for Pediatric Cardiology certification validation at the Swiss Medical Federation (FMH).

She has a special interst in point-of-care echocardiography and is co-chair of the Working Group on Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) of the European Society of Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care (ESPNIC) working on European training and certification guidelines, member of the steering comitee on Swiss Target Neonatal Echocardiography (TNE) dealing with Swiss education and certification, member of the special interst group on Neonatologist Performed Echocardiography (NPE) of the European Society of Pediatric Research (ESPR) and European Society of Neonatology (ESN) and board member of the Swiss programm on Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) from the Swiss Society of Ultrasound (SGUM) dealing with Swiss training and certification.

She is active as an associate editor for the Journal « Frontiers in Pediatrics » and « Cardiology in the Young », the official journal of the AEPC and is currently working as author/editor on a Textbook about Pediatric POCUS (Springer).
