Prof. Gerald Greil

Dr. Greil studied medicine in Germany (TU and LMU Munich), the United Kingdom (London, Oxford), the US (University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School), and Sweden (Lund). After working in Pediatric Cardiology in Tübingen/Germany (2001-2006) he joined King’s College London/Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation (2006 to 2015) as a Consultant (Lead of the Congenital Cardiac MRI Imaging Service) and clinical academic. In February 2015 Dr. Greil was appointed as Division Chief of the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Cardiology at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center of Dallas/Children’s Health, Dallas, TX, USA and the Co-Director of the Heart Center.

Dr. Greil is currently Professor of Pediatrics at UTSW and holds the Pogue Family Distinguished Chair in Pediatric Cardiology. He has published more than 125 original articles, book chapters and clinical guidelines and is an internationally established expert treating patients with acquired and congenital heart disease.
